How our attention softens as the day winds down

Recently I realized that in the evening I don’t just feel tired — my attention itself changes. I can’t focus on fast editing, loud sounds, or anything слишком насыщенное. It’s like my brain refuses to process it. Instead, I end up searching for something slow and almost repetitive. Do you think this is just about energy levels, or is it more about how our mind protects itself from overload?

I think there’s definitely something protective about it. After a full day, your brain has already handled a lot of information, decisions, and emotions, so it naturally tries to reduce incoming pressure. That’s why I started choosing

videos in the evening. There’s no need to stay alert or react — you just watch and let your thoughts settle. I’ve noticed that this kind of videos creates a soft transition between being active and going to rest. It’s not even about entertainment anymore, it’s more like a gentle background that helps you slow down.
