What's your go-to follow-up email template after a job interview?

So, landing a job interview feels like a huge win, right? But then comes the waiting game afterward, and honestly, it drives me nuts! I always wonder if I should send a thank you note, or some kind of follow-up. What's the general etiquette, and is there a point where you're just bugging them? Personally, I always worry that I'll come across as too pushy, even though I'm genuinely interested. I've missed out on jobs before, simply because I didn’t know how to act afterwards. Anyone have some proven strategies that actually work in the real world? I'm looking for advice that offers that perfect balance - I want to prove that I genuinely care and keep myself fresh in their memory.

I totally understand where you're coming from! It's a nerve-wracking experience, and being proactive without being overbearing is key. What’s worked for me is having a killer follow up email template at the ready. Immediately after the interview, send a thank-you note, reiterating your interest and mentioning something specific you discussed. Then, if you haven't heard back in a week or two (depending on what they told you about their timeline), send a polite follow up email checking in. Don't be afraid to re-state a key skill that would make you a good hire. I found some useful tips for crafting a follow up email at a great website. It really helped boost my confidence.
