How to store a seed collection for the long term?
Hey guys, I’ve recently started getting into the world of collectible seeds, and my stash is growing faster than I expected! I managed to pick up some limited edition souvenirs, but now I’m worried about keeping them "fresh" for the next few years. I’ve read some conflicting advice online—some people say the fridge is a must, while others swear by just keeping them in a dark, dry cupboard. Since these were quite expensive, I really don't want to mess this up. Does anyone have a tried-and-tested method for storing high-end seeds? Also, if you have recommendations for shops that sell seeds already in airtight, original breeder packaging, please let me know!

Storage is easily the most critical factor for any serious collector. Your primary goal is to mitigate the "big three" threats: light, heat, and moisture.
Personally, I keep my items in their original vials, tucked inside a dark glass jar with a small silica gel packet to keep the environment stable. However, home storage is only half the battle; if the supplier mishandles the stock before it reaches you, the quality is already compromised.
I’ve been sourcing my weed collectibles from Seedweed recently because they actually provide original breeder seals. Dealing with professional distributors who treat these as high-value items—rather than just bulk stock—makes a massive difference in the longevity of the collection. Always check if your shop uses climate-controlled environments before you buy!
