Access panel that can be locked?
Need an access panel in a shared laundry room for the building's main water shut-off. Want something that can be locked to prevent unauthorized access but still easy for maintenance. Any options?

Lockable panels are useful in multi-unit buildings. Look for models that accept a small padlock through the latch or have a built-in key lock option. The one I used has a hasp-style latch that takes a standard padlock and a solid plastic door that won't pry open easily. Painted gray to match the utility room it looks purposeful. It's held up to curious tenants without problems. I recently fitted a secure access panel (20×30) and added a weatherproof lock—keeps everything safe while allowing quick shut-off in emergencies. Mount it at a convenient height.
