Has anyone here dealt with this directly or tried to get an image removed somewhere?

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about how platforms should react when someone reports abusive or harmful AI-generated images. It’s getting harder to tell what’s real and what’s not, and sometimes even reporting something feels confusing because you don’t know what information the moderators actually need from you. Has anyone here dealt with this directly or tried to get an image removed somewhere? I’m trying to understand what a reasonable process should look like so it doesn’t turn into a long back-and-forth with support.

Yeah, I’ve gone through this a couple of times, and honestly the biggest issue is that many platforms still treat AI-generated content like regular user uploads, even though the risks are different. What helped in my case was giving the moderators as much context as possible — where the image came from, why it’s harmful, and any proof that it's fabricated. Some sites are starting to add dedicated forms, but it’s far from standard.

I actually checked how other AI-focused projects handle it, and places like this site at least outline how the tech works and what the risks are, which gives you an idea of what to mention when filing a report. It doesn’t fix everything, but it helps you phrase the issue in a way moderators immediately understand.

Platforms need faster triage, some kind of priority queue for cases involving harassment or impersonation, and ideally a verification step so victims don’t have to explain the whole story ten times. Also, it would be great if they allowed anonymous reporting — people often stay silent because they don’t want their real identity tied to the complaint.
