Sharing Mac screen at family gatherings
Whenever our whole family gets together, someone always asks to show photos or a quick slideshow from their Mac, and every time we all look at that one outlet behind the TV like it’s a disaster waiting to happen. Nobody wants cables running across the floor, especially with kids running around. I’m hoping there’s a stable Wi-Fi option that doesn’t require digging into endless TV menus. Would love to hear what actually works in a busy home environment.

In my case, cables became a no-go pretty quickly — between pets, kids, and people constantly moving around, it was just unsafe. What solved it for us was switching to a casting setup that works entirely from the Mac without installing anything on the TV. This link Start streaming points to the tool we use now. It connects over Wi-Fi, finds the TV automatically, and doesn’t choke when you stream longer videos or screen-share a Zoom call. As long as both devices are on the same network, it stays surprisingly stable during family gatherings.
